MAP-Latin America concentrates its Brazilian activities in the NE of the country.
Partners are located in:

  • Fortaleza (Ceara state)
  • Caravelas (Bahia state)

 

MAP’s General Objectives in Brazil:

  • Brazil mapIncrease awareness of mangrove conservation and industrial shrimp farming issues;
  • Advocate for the rights of traditional and Afro-indigenous coastal populations while promoting their empowerment;
  • Improve and expand networking and experience sharing amongst coastal communities and organizations; and
  • Serve as a conduit to voice the concerns of Brazilian grassroots organizations and communities suffering the consequences of mangrove degradation.
